Lowering the Vote Count and Spring Cleaning
It's been mentioned over on GR that the vote count needs to be lowered to reflect the number of active voting members. I think this is fine. The number thrown out was 20, so if you all are fine with that then I will go ahead and implement that change.

Also it was suggested we do a spring cleaning, look over the members list and remove names inactive for 1 or more years. I would like to do this, but I do not have the time so are there any other mods here willing to take on the task?

Here is how I'd like the spring cleaning done:

1) Check the members list for journals not updated/active within the last year or more.
2) Send a friendly reminder comment on said inactive journals asking if they would still like to participate.
3) If no one replies within a few days then remove them remove the members from the list.

It was suggested we make a post on GR asking who wants to stay and who wants to go and do it that way, but I am afraid this method might cut a few more people than we want simply because sometimes we all get lazy or are not on for a few days and miss a post or don't go back and read past posts and someone might get cut that is actually still active.

So reply here if you want to take on the spring cleaning task and also let me know if you guys think the 20 votes thing is ok so I can make the changes to the profile ASAP.

I"m for it. I also like Donna Ricci's idea that we make the number an odd one (like 23) so that we can avoid having ties.

That said, I'm not sure I am up to the task of doing the spring cleaning due to a crazy work schedule this semester. :( If no one else can do it, I will try to see what I can juggle around.

Yeah 23 sounds like a good number to me as well, avoids ties.

I've been back in school for the last year and a half. I do read, but have been guilty of not keeping up with stuff. I will try my best to check in on things every couple of days and vote on new apps as they some along.

I'll post some photos this week. :)

I am the king of lazy and disappearing from LJ for weeks on end, so I approve of the inactive journal method.

And the 20 vote thing works for me. Most of the time I miss the votes anyway for the above reason. Perhaps knowing that the applications won't be lingering forever will be more of an incentive for me throw my two bits in.

lowering the vote count is fine with me.

i'm pregnant *yay!* and thusly have even less time for internetting than usual, what with all the extra exhaustion and throwing up and feverish researching of everything baby-related, haha. :P but i still read, honest!

Lowering the vote count is fine by me, and I agree that having an odd number to avoid ties is an excellent idea.

I have no strong feelings about spring cleaning either way.

I think lowering the count is a good idea, but would concurr with the odd number to avoid ties..

I am willing to help with the spring cleaning.. I think this is a good idea too.
